Penguins

Everyone is allowed one…..so here’s mine.

I never knew this.
Penguins

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins
on the ice in  Antarctica

Where do they go ?

Wonder no more ! ! !
It  is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely
ordered and complex life.
 The  penguin is very committed to its family and will
mate for life, as well as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its offspring
throughout its life. If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other
Members of the family and social circle have been Known to dig holes in  the ice, using
their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for
The dead bird to be rolled into and buried. The male penguins then gather in  a circle
Around the fresh grave and sing:

 "Freeze a jolly good  fellow"

"Freeze a jolly good fellow."

"Then they  kick him in the ice hole."

You really didn't believe that I know anything about penguins, did

you?
  It's so easy to fool OLD people

You could have heard a Pin Drop!

These
are good

JFK'S
Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in  France   in the early 60's when
DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO.  DeGaulle said he wanted all US
military out of France as soon as possible.

Rusk responded,
"Does that include those who are buried here?"

DeGaulle
did not respond.

You
could have heard a pin drop.

When in  England   ,
at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the
Archbishop of Canterbury   if our plans for  Iraq   were just an example of
'empire building' by George Bush.

He answered by saying,
"Over the years, the United States has sent many of
its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom
beyond our borders.  The only amount of land we have ever asked for
in return is enough to bury those that did not
return."

You
could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a conference in France
where a number of international engineers
were taking part, including French and American.  During a break,
one of the French engineers came back into the room saying, "Have you
heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft
carrier to  Indonesia   to help the tsunami victims.  What does he
intend to do, bomb them?"
A Boeing engineer
stood up and replied quietly:  "Our carriers have three
hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are
nuclear powered and can supply emergency  electrical power to
shore facilities; they have three  cafeterias with the capacity to
feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand
gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a
dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and
from their flight deck.  We have eleven such ships;
how many does France have?"
You
could have heard a pin drop.
U.S. Navy Admiral
was attending a naval conference that included
Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French
Navies  At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large
group of officers that included personnel from most of those countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a
French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many
languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, "Why is it that
we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than
speaking French?"
Without hesitating,
the American Admiral replied, "Maybe it's because the
Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't
have to speak German."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
AND
THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...
Robert Whiting,
an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane.
At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport
in his carry on.
"You
have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked
sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting
admitted that he had been to France
previously.
"Then
you should know enough to have your passport ready."
The American said,
"The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible..
Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France !"
The American senior
gave the Frenchman a long hard look.  Then he
quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at  Omaha Beach   on D-Day in
1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen
to show a passport to."
You
could have heard a pin drop.
Today I am writing about a wonderful little business nestled along Route5 in Enfield CT.   The actual address is 540 Enfield Street in Enfield CT.   They are celebrating their 4th year in business this weekend.   Adspresso is an Italian Specialty  shop that serves the most wonderful Italian pastries and lunches as well.  They do wonderful cookie trays and gift baskets.  Adspresso is run by two sisters Ida and Rita and they get the special assistance of Ida's son Anthony who makes the best espresso and he also offers waiter services.  If you live in the area or are passing through stop by and say hello and grab a bite to eat you will not be disappointed!
Congratulations Adspresso on your four year anniversary!
And here is an updated photo of Anthony whohas grown a bit since the opening four years ago!
A Carrot, An Egg and a Cup of Coffee!
A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...
-- You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.--
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying A word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl.
Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see." "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma the daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its insides became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to you (I JUST DID); to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.
If you don't (re)send it, you will just miss out on the opportunity to brighten someone's day with this message!
May we all be COFEE!!!!!!
Have a great day!
If My Body were a Car! I am a big fan and I love this so I must share!
If My Body Were a Car
This is just too funny - scary how true it is!!
If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull ..... But that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it --
Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter, either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!
Monday Morning Snow time Yikes!
Well I woke this morning to see my backyard filled with the white stuff.  I think we may be in for a long winter here in New England.  I was out and about early to do some errands and then I came home made a new piece.  Tried some new photography with plain background which I am not so sure about but we will give it a try.  Listed the new item in my shop and edited a couple of things.  I have alot of work to do and started to feel a bit overwhelmed.
And here is the new piece I did today, it is Arizona Turquoise with sterling silver spacer beads, a Swarovski silver pendant with some crystals and a sterling silver toggle clasp which is easy to fasten and very secure.
Tomorrow is Show Time!
Tomorrow begins the first in a series of holiday craft shows that I will be doing.  I am excited and have quite a bit of new product to showcase.
Smokey Quartz helps relieve depresson and is a stone of protection from negative energy!
As we all know this is the time of year that some start to feel sad and a bit depressed.  This stone can help with that and other things, read on
Smokey Quartz is said to provide strong cleansing and grounding qualities to the wearer
It is also said to give you endurance, help relieve depression and make you more in touch with the universe. It is somewhat calming and is said to protect you from being affected by the negative energy of those around you.
In crystal healing, smokey quartz crystals are thought to have cleansing properties with particular power to aid the kidneys, adrenal glands and reproductive organs - detoxifying the body and increasing fertility
Do you want to know who is Blogging About you?
Here is a link to find out who's been blogging about you!  Check it out it is pretty neat!
http://www.socialmention.com/
Perhaps you know someone who is suffering from arthritis pain or carpal tunnel or headaches for that matter
Part of how I got involved in making healing stone jewelry is due to severe pain I was enduring from Severe Stenosis in my lower back.  I also have carpal tunnel and a torn meniscous in my knee.  I cannot take pain medications or anti inflamatory drugs.  A friend of mine had just had surgery for carpal tunnel and his physical therapist told him to get magnetic hematite and wear it and that it would help with his recovery from the surgery.  He made himself one and it helped him and he ever so kindly gave me one.  I had results though I was not a believer at first within 24 hours.   I now wear a necklace, bracelets on both wrists at night and anklets on both ankles at night as well.  I cannot say that I am cured however I can say that I am pain free as long as I wear the jewelry.  Interestingly enough, people started buying what I was wearing off my wrists, neck, etc.  I started studying the stones and then learned that there were healing properties to all of the stones.  I am careful not to purchase heated, treated or dyed stones as that does change the healing properties.
Today I am telling you about hematite because without it my life was full of pain.  Perhaps there is someone you know that might benefit from this stone.
Hematite Used for centuries to stimulate healing for arthritis, joint pain, muscle sprain, tear or strain. Excellent for sports injuries, increasing the flow of blood when applied to an injured area. Promotes drug free pain relief.
About me
I have had many jobs over my lifetime most recently as an Automobile Sales Consultant for more than a decade. That being said I have found my passion. I create, market and sell healing stone jewelry. I am known as Positiveflow at shows and most recently on Etsy. http://positiveflow.etsy.com/ I have been living in Southern Rhode Island for the past 34 plus years having moved to the shoreline from the Hartford CT area.
I have a great ability to connect with people which has contributed to my success with my little business. My customers are able to make a personal connection with the stones and their metaphysical healing properties. Each of my pieces is carefully crafted by me with much research and thought.
I enjoy seeing people handle the stones and many of them will return to a particular piece over and over. I offer the information on the stone and what it helps with and often times they find that it corresponds to whatever they are dealing with in their lives.
I am the mother of three adult children and the grandmother of three with number four on the way early spring. I am a bird lover. I love the birds outside but also have a pet cockatiel named Sammy. He is a tremendous enjoyment for me and has a great sense of humor. I also love plants and gardening.
I am getting ready to start my annual Christmas Craft Shows for this year. Much work to be done.
And I leave you today with the thought of handmade in the USA
Some call me the bead lady ♥
